We’re building terrariums at the Green Tree Public Library. Come join us!
We’ll talk about considerations for choosing plants, accessorizing your terrarium, and successfully caring for it. Then we’ll turn you loose on a container of your choice to plant your very own terrarium.
The Quick Details
- Sunday, February 12, 11:00 am at the Green Tree Public Library. Plan on about an hour an a half.
- Bring a glass container (see below for more guidance).
- Please RSVP at the Green Tree Public Library to attend.
- Class costs $7, which includes soil, moss, rocks, etc. Plants are extra, starting at $3. (One or two plants are plenty for smaller containers, maybe 3-5 for large containers.) Most folks end up spending about $10-20.
Bring Your Own Container
You’ll need to bring a container along to design your terrarium in (or more than one, if you like). A few important considerations:
- Your plants need light, so your container should be clear.
- A lid is optional. Any reasonably enclosed container will work for the style of terrariums we’re building.
- Make sure your hand fits into the opening of the container. (It’s possible to create a smaller terrarium, but more difficult.)
Good options for containers include mason jars, aquariums, fishbowls, and apothecary jars. If you’re not sure, send us an email!
